I am born and bred in Birmingham, UK and under a “polically correct” banner, be recognised or classified as British Asian…although I would consider myself to be a human being first and foremost. I am 42 years old, gay and have been in a loving monogamous relationship with T for almost 22 years.

I’m quite a gregarious, pragmatic person, passionate about people and issues that impacts on the community or society at large or affects me. However, for now, I am concentrating on expressing myself through a number of creative mediums, whether it is baking, gardening, swimming or cycling and social media such as this blog, Facebook and Twitter…I have a strong sense of creativity, flair for design and artisitic merit although my desire is to study for a degree if I could afford it and have a best selling novel.

I am opinionated and some people would say I should’ve been a politician or consider politics as a a way forward. Although I am politically minded, I don’t think it is my calling in life right now but maybe in the future…

In this blog, I hope to write about most things that interest me. I might write a review on a book that I’ve read or a film that I’ve seen, or maybe just write a comment or two on celebrities! I hope to write about my own personal taste in music and how it makes me feel-it ranges from Maria Callas to Mariah Carey, styles from Glam to Goth, interior design and decor – I like anything up to the 1960’s, food from good, reputable establishments to “greasy spoon cafes”, fashion or anything else that takes my fancy, I’m a typical Piscean and swim in all directions! I tend to cast a critical/cynical eye over events, experiences and people in and around my life, so my perspective on life may not match up with everyone.

My dad used to say “If you haven’t learned something new everyday (no matter how trivial or major), life isn’t worth living”. I’d like to take that motto and apply it to this blog and my life in general.
